APP06 - Audio post production & 5.1. surround master course | 5 months

The world of post production spans various avenues of the music industry. Post production refers to any audio work performed after the initial video / multimedia production has been completed. EMENDY College’s Audio Post Production Course offers students the opportunity to educate themselves on all the various aspects in the post production field.

ABOUT THE COURSE

If you’re interests are to produce in a multi-channel capacity, design & record sound effects for video games; TV and film, or compose film music scores, this course will provide you with the technical knowledge as well as practical experience to enter the field of post production.

This 5 month, evening course covers all aspects of post production, from setting up a professional multi-channel working environment up to composing scores for video games, TV and film. In the APP course students will be taught the theoretical and technical aspects of post production which will then be put to practical use.

Each student will have the opportunity of recording & designing sound effects as accompaniment to various visual formats, in stereo as well as surround sound formats, by means of sound synthesis. Students will also gain practical experience in composition for visual media ranging from cartoons to big screen films.

Multi-channel formats, such as 5.1 surround sound, are covered in detail throughout this course including the history, setup and calibration of different surround sound environments as well as the final mix procedures and techniques.

Ever wonder how the sound of a bullet hitting its target is created? Students will get the opportunity to record Foley sound effects such as ‘sword stabbings’, fire, car engines and bullet flybys to name but a few, in order to sync the recording to visual media.

The APP course is the most comprehensive course with regards to post production education, covering every aspect of audio-visual post production theory and technique. This course will provide you with all the necessary tools and skills to enter a profession in the audio post production field.
